As the name suggests, the Standards Institute was an Institute that preserved the standards of nobles and gentry, and kept track of family lines. But it's function had changed and now it was a type of secret police that monitored the internal status of all the realms.

"I was under the impression that we were discussing the topic of how we should thank them." Dulaz shifted his weight uncomfortably.

"Of course we are. We would not want to be thought of as unthankful." Dusef said flapping his long sleeves. " We should hold the ceremony on the surface of Krasbyul. We could even invite all who claim to be from the independence party and radical factions."

"Why?" Dugas looked at Dusef with confusion.

"There is a theory that those who wish for independence underestimate the Empire. They think the Empire cannot do anything and laughs at us for it."

"So Your Holiness believes we should do something?" Dugas covered his mouth in shock. "That's hardly elegant."

"Not at all. Both the Star Forces and the Standards Institute would have to be made larger if we wished to do so. This is far from elegant." Dusef's smile became even ghastlier. "But I cannot bear to see them underestimate us like that. I can stand being hated, but I cannot stand being looked down upon. This will serve to teach subjects that it is not that the Empire cannot do anything to them but that we choose not, and if we wished to, we can put an end to them at any time. From what I hear, their original goal was to blackmail the Empire. We need to teach them a bit of a lesson.

"Sporh!" Lamyunyu said happily. "I always questioned whether the members of the Balke family were actually from the Sporh family! How can you come up with such backhanded ideas?"

I wish I could read the whole novel. People from America have better chances in achieving that goal than...well..me...a citizen of this forsaken country.

Poland is not forsaken! Well, I don't think of it as forsaken. I was probably the only American to celebrate when you joined the European Union. (Heck, I was probably the only one to know when you joined the E.U.)

On a side note, what did you think of the E.U.? Were you for joining or against it?

Our chances are just as low as yours, and Poland is not forsaken country, Iran and North Korea are the forsaken ones.

If you say so. I still think it's not that great. The politicians are all corrupt. There are maybe two who try to do something good for this country. There are many political groups and no one represent the same way of thinking. If I were to decide about their future I would put the all in a rocket and fire them into orbit but it is possible that they would still steal some money even from there.

Joining UN was probably the best decision this country could make. It's because it will be easier to move and find a job abroad.
